Chrysler will build and sell four versions of the tiny Fiat 500 in North America starting in 2011: a hatchback, a convertible, a station wagon and a sporty hatchback.

I wouldn't want to be in either the Smart Car or the new FIAT (fix it again Tony) during a head-on collision. I have seen the Toyota ECHO fold like a soda can from just a 20 mph hit. The death toll in America will rise if these little cars are used on major highways. They are really meant to be driven in small European cities, in heavy traffic. Not at 60+ speeds on the highway.
